Tungsten carbide rod cut to size.

Odd request.
Looking for 10mm tungsten rod . In 11mm lengths.

Found a supplier that can do me 5mm rod but it's a bit small for my needs.

Probably a largish quantity as I can easily sell it on to people.

11mm lengths, whats the purpose?
There is plenty on ebay, mostly from china but also some uk old stock. I have 300mm lengths of 8 and 12mm that may become boring bars/lathe tools eventually.

Easy to get in the us. Non existent this side of the pond.

For weights? Bit of a waste tbh. You'd be better with pure tungsten for the higher density and 3.2/4mm green electrodes are often cheap on amazon.

Cutting is easy, use a fine diamond wheel. The dremmel wheels are adequate if used in a die grinder.

Why have a plastic weights holder, just have it brass or steel for the same result.. too much money in RC stuff I guess.

Whoops. Yeah. No carbide. Just typed that out of familiarity.

I've got 5mm here but really need the diameter to make them worthwhile weight wise.

Mine are brass. But 3d printing is a lot more accessible for many.

Fair enough, that will be much harder to find I think. Carbide density is 15.7g/cm³ vs 19g/cm³ for pure, still a lot heavier than most metals.
If your selling it, most people wouldnt know the difference.

If it was just 20 for my own use cutting myself wouldn't be too bad for a one off.

5mm rod I have here is sold for rock hammers iirc. But that's the biggest they go to.

They're rock crawling them. Equivalent of filling the tyres with water. Very low cog. Though rotational forces of the wheel weights is what they try an avoid by using the hangers being light and accelerating fast it does have an effect

The other option is to use dense metal like they do when balancing rotating assemblies. We used to use an Alloy called Mallory 3000. It was a sintered tungsten alloy that was machineable. Admittedly it was about 20 years ago and in a different country, but there must be something similar here

Densamet is the one I've come come across here. Pretty much the same sintered Tungsten Nickel Iron item as Mallory metal. You will need to be sitting down when you ask for the price.
