tumble dryer capacitor replacment

as above daughter has a beko dryer that just hums when starting if you remove the lid and give the drum a shove it works fine

ive found the capactor its a 8uf -+5percent the ones on line are 9uf same spec volts etc even the ones listed for my mechine are 9uf

can i get away with a 9uf cap ive allway been told same spec uf but can use a higher voltage

any ideas ?

9uf is 8uf + 12.5% so I would just try it. Or just put a pair of 4uf in parallel.

If 9 micro farads work for others, I'd give it a try.

It will be fine... most motor caps are crap tolarances... near enough is good enough

It’s always better to increase the capacitance value rather than decrease it. So 9uf in place of 8uf is ok but don’t go to high

ok taken a chance on the 9uf i can get a 8uf but its twice the price so hope this works ok thanks peeps
