When I bought my plasma somebody asked me if you can draw something on paper and cut through it. Hmm lets play I thought.

Printed off the famous Che Guevara photo A4 sized, stuck it on 1,2mm sheet with spraymount, easy peasy, have done it with lettering, and lots of silhouettes, did some great ones of mates jumping mountain bikes. Sold lots of it then got bored with the idea. A good way of making a few cents.

Like weather vanes without all the welding and fiddly painting...

Different sizes, different images, varying prices...different materials like stainless, or copper maybe.

Shouldn't take long to knock out 40 - 50 and bung then out on a market stall.

Maybe take 'commissions' on house numbers or names while you're there? Take a deposit, done by next week for the punter to pick up. If they haven't got a suitable template or photo with them they could email it to you during the week.

It's about 6 - 8 weeks before the Sunday markets start to pick up again, plenty of time to experiment.

Peter, what a commercial head you have just dont tell them how easy it is.
I was once demoing it at an arts event cutting out signatures. You look a right when it goes wrong in public.
Be warned, it can get very smoky as the paper burns off.
Look for clipart silhouettes, enlarge them and Bob's your uncle.
I have even managed to a Che style image of a mates kid, he did the graphics. Also try projecting the the shadow of somebody's head onto a piece of plate, and draw round it, bullet proof memorabilia. I am sure that this would be a winner at craft shows etc.

I do a lot of my plasma stuff that way, saves tracing the whole lot out again. I`ll have to try it out with some flanges i need to make.

Peter, what a commercial head you have just dont tell them how easy it is.

I've been known to stand on Sunday markets but not for about 16 months or so.

Finding the right product line it the tricky part and something home made would be good as not many others could start up in competition.

Something like this would be low-ish turn-over but reasonable prices, ie, sell about 20 items a week between £5 & £20 and there's £100 a week clear profit.

20 items would be 3 - 4 evenings work, prep, cut, clean-up, paint/varnish.

I'm not particularly artistic but I could print out a template and follow it!
