Trolley jack, repair or replace?

This fast lifts direct from the handle. One pump can raise it to the contact point.

My Bradbury Jackette does that. You twist the handle to the left and it engages a pin to lift the jack till it meets resistance then you let go and it resorts to hydraulic power. It also lifts a vehicle high enough to put wheel ramps under the tyres which is handy. I got some funny looks when I had my daughter's Corsa on 4 ramps when doing the exhaust.

I thought that they would be to worn to measure correctly.

On this you just lock it as normal & pump.

Hydraulic equipment supermarket https://hes.grouphes.com/ usually have virt. any seal made and their service and prices are very good. take out the old seal measure it give them the sizes and they will match it.

It is a Sealy 2.25 ton jack.
on the top of the ram is a rubber bung.
Pop it out, add jack oil.
Operate, with release function open.
Do this 4 times, it will purge air.


Raise to max, lower, repeat 4 times. That will pump oil into seals.
Put weight on the pad. Raise 75% of max height.
Measure the height.
Leave 24 hours.
If it has dropped, rebuild. Sealy do kits. The ram is common. Check dimensions.


If good strip, de rust paint and use.
