I have an SGS TJ3 trolley jack. Great value for £100, though wish it was lower profile and longer. After few years use it stopped reaching full height. So I unscrewed the port on the oil reservoir (marked blue) and tried to top up oil. No luck. After much messing I found the rubber bung (red) on the side of the ram, removed it and was able to raise the oil level and bleed via that to fix the problem.
I wrote to SGS to check the right method and they confirmed to fill via the rubber bung.
So question... if filling, level check, and bleeding is all done via the rubber bung, what is the screw port for?
