Look very dodgy to me!!
If the load slips slightly it could all go very Pete Tong!
there a tight fit in the holes not sloppy and the platform of the jack is a good thicknessI would tend to agree, perhaps a thread of some sort would help to keep the extension fixed
Scary! There's no way I'd trust those!
As they're effectively just sat on the jack rather than being fixed I can see the jack suddenly wanting to make a break for freedom if it wasn't perfectly placed.
I don't see why not. They look exactly like the Jack extensions manufactured by the likes of Weber or compac. I'd like some of these myself, handy for jacking up trucks.
even without extensions i err on the side of safety and use axle stands at every point of lift and never go underneath without doing so . a friends father got crushed a few years ago under a car and it etches on your mindFair enough, if they were unsafe then you wouldn't see them for sale.
Might cobble a set together and prove myself wrong.
We all take the odd risk but some just aren't worth taking. You hear way too many stories of people being crushed under vehicles.even without extensions i err on the side of safety and use axle stands at every point of lift and never go underneath without doing so . a friends father got crushed a few years ago under a car and it etches on your mind
as gordon pointed out the jack must be of good strong quiality on the platform and mustnt flex . the jack in picture is an epco with no wear on any of the joints . the extensions shouldnt be used on mickeymouse chineese jacks that will buckle without the extensionsI made an extension a long time ago, trying to get some extra height.Nearly had a calamity!!The weak point is not attaching the extension,But you are greatly increasing the mechanical advantage,My jack slipped just a little and the flat bar that acts like a parallelogram to keep the lifting pad horizontal bent outwards letting the load come tumbling down, If anybody is going to make an extension I would STRONGLY advise them to stiffen the bar in question
