Viagra for carbs!

Lucas FI on the 2.5PI was a monumental nightmare
Didn't have much grief with mine, injector pump or injectors never gave me any issues however the high pressure fuel pump would overheat in hot weather and would be unable to pressurise properly.
On one trip I pulled into Gordano services, got a load of ice from the restaurant, popped the ice into a carrier bag and packed it round the pump, got me home
Get a rebuild kit, do it youself, unless the throttle spindles are badly worn it should be a doddle. If they are worn you need a specialist to fit new spindles and bushes.
I don’t like the highly polished effect some people go for, so I left it factory. Much more attractive in my opinion.
I have set up a few twin SU carbs on old MG Midgets. However I believe setting them on 6 cylinder engines is more tricky. Fairly sure that the founder of Royale kit cars started out in the 1980s selling a triple carb set up for Triumph 6 cylinder engines because people couldn't get twin carbs to run right.
I agree. Setting up three Weber carbs was no different to doing two. Some simple vacuum measuring kit will do the trick. A mate of mine who is a pretty good race mechanic could get them up pretty much dialled in by ear no matter what carbs they were! Too clever for meWith respect thats rubbish it don't matter if it a 4 6 8 10 12 cylinder its all the same to set the carbs up
