Same background here Turbo and it does help. Just don't back the arc away to smooth the heat at the end...Those welds are looking good, wish my first ones looked like that.
Out of all processes tig produces the nicest welds, probably the most versatile and it is a great skill to master. I was taught to oxy/acet weld in college and I think it helped me a lot when it came to tig. I hope I can still remember how to do it once I get my welder set up for tig.
