Measure from the top of the tyre up 5 inches and set that as the hight. The bumpstops do actually get used on a standard car when potholes and speed bumps are involved. Thinking about it, there is qute a lot of space above the wheel that you could loose.
If you plan to keep it when finished then use Polyurethane suspension bushes from Superflex, new rubber ones last 6 months if your lucky.

yes, a lot of space above the wheel. suppose if i cannot sort it out, so it looks nice i'll have to weld the cut side back in and trim it to allow 7" travel the extra two in case the bump stop gets lost.

The LCV's have a different type of arches you could use, probably mean welding a bit back in on the cut side but then you can always put the outer arch lower down than the inner, for styling as the wheel doesn't come anywhere near it. Have a look here to see what I mean:

Hi,

possibly the 80+mph in a vehicle that a decent gust of wind (anything over a sneeze) woudl blow off the road....

I recall may years ago being overtaken by a Bond Bug doing something over 70 mph and it was bouncing all over the road.

A mate at work had an Issetta (not sure of the spelling). He bought it as a restoration project in 1972 for about £50 and after a bit of a clean-up he was offered £600 for it. I have no idea what one would be worth now.

peter the original bond 875 was Hillman imp powered and was faster to 60 than a MGB held the road pretty good as rear engine

this one it also broke the lap record for cars at brands hatch driven by John surtees
