transporting an antenna tower

So I "won" a second hand Tennamast about 100 miles away from me.
despite the eldest daughter being very pretty and asking at young farmers, they don't appear to be falling over themselves, to lend a trailer for the day, and Id prefer to pick it up without having to use a trailer if possible.

I have a Navara crew cab pickup with fairly substantial roof bars and Im thinking along the lines of.

lash the smaller square box section front to back along the roof pars so its overhanging equally.

Make an A/Ladder frame so I can sit the main mast in the rear load bed at an angle, so It clears the cab roof and the weight is transferred into the load bed between the bottom of the mast and the A frame.

Lash the main mast to the box section attached to the roof bars, to provive lateral support. longest round tube is approx 14ft (shipping weight from Tennamast website is 50Kg)

Can anyone see any pitfalls with this ?

Alternatively are there any van/wagon type couriers in the north west that would pick up and deliver ?

Where is the mast located? There may be forum members local able to help.
I would go for the ladder A frame idea, what is the load rating of a navara roof rack?

Its going from Langold near Worksop to Chorley. Dont know the rating of the roof bars but theyre quite substantial, Im Sure they'll take the weight of the smaller section. alternatively I could lash a wooden lateral locator r to the roofbars and put both the metal sections in the load bed

The A frame in the load bed sounds good. I've moved 6 metre Ally antenna poles by strapping a ladder to the roofrack on a SWB Landy to support the length. Just an idea, if you have a front towing eye run a bit of rope up to the mast poles to reduce any whip/bounce?.

it's difficult to tell the diameter of the widest part, and I'm not sure how much clearance you have, but I've transported 3x 6m lengths of 100mm square box sections strapped *under* my shogun.
from Thirsk to south Leeds, so 60+ miles on the A1

I was going to suggest "under" too - after seeing a bloke in Nigeria transport full pipe length under some estate car on some "interesting" roads.

I did once manage to pull the back of a Ford F150 so far out of shape the tailgate wouldn't shut after strapping some similar pipe lengths into one in Dallas . . . cue the interesting sight of a bloke using a lump hammer to re-arrange the back end of new truck so the tailgate would close . . . it came to me the other day, 15 yrs after the event, I could have used the same strap tied to something immobile to pull the sides back out again . . .

We move 4x 6Mtr alloys on made for the job roof rack on both on our Doblos & Citroen vans,
As @Robotstar5 said we use the towing eye to stop whip we also have a beacon & warning triangle that clips on the rear never been stopped, don't liked the tilted idea.

Cars tend to have a 75-100kg roof load limit.

If you putting one item in the trailer why not all of it?

Watch out that you use the correct markers if it over hangs.

Keep over hangs within legal limits.

PS if the tilt means its over 3m high you need the height marked in the view of the drivers position.

6mts long is not a problem on an ordinary IW trailer.

Just put a ladder down, strap to the ladder and then on the roof rack.

6m probably will only be 1m over hang either end if that.
Just a flag in the end would be fine.

(Says new double cabb navara is 5.33m long so only 30cm overhang each end)

Sign of the times I think. Everyone is terrified to do what comes naturally because of the PC snowflakes. You need a consent form signed in triplicate to even notice a pretty girl these days.
