I will soon be painting a small transmission case..once all cleaned..i am planning to use a vht etching primer...with a vht top coat...anyone used this method and to what success....many thanks...

Why VHT ???
I would epoxy primer and then 2k topcoat it

I only thought of vht because of the heat generated..never sprayed/painted a alloy trans case...just wondering what the best method would be..

As above Spence, you don't need VHT on trans case or engine, they don't get as hot as you might think, heres a auto painted in 2K, autos create a lot of heat


The case needs to be clean like this and then apply 2 coats of epoxy primer, then leave for 1 hour and then overcoat with 2K topcoat of your choice
