Transit welding help

Hi. First post on here. Looking for some advice on welding my transit van rear inner wheel arches. Rusted and split where joins floor pan. Not sure if I weld a plate on the inside or outside or both for MOT? Is it even a failure? Does it need continuous weld or spit welding. My skills are begginer bordering clueless. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I had an LDV Convoy for 11 years - so I feel your pain. It's what got me into welding & was fugly enough that I couldn't ruin it by being a total novice (& my earliest efforts were horrendous - now they are better & stronger but still not pretty).
I think you can get repair panels for the tranny which will make life easier & save a lot of time fabricating.

What make and model of welder do you have ? With gas, or gasless flux-core wire? Have you practised laying beads on scrap?
