Hi,
My van just failed it's MOT on a rust hole (1") in the rear floor within 30cm of the spring hanger. The spring hangers and rest of the floor are otherwise sound (I think!!).
This is one of the reasons why a got my mig and I am a beginner :-)
My question, is it OK to cut out the rot and weld a patch from the top from inside the van? I wonder this because if then inspected from below the welding will not be visible. Would this be acceptable to the MOT inspector when re-tested?
It would seem to me very difficult, for a beginner like me, to weld a patch from below, welding upside down!
Any thoughts?
