Must be one of those new electric ones if it's been on fire.

This thread has done nothing whatsoever to ease my nervousness and distrust of modern vehicles - I can tell you that!
I spent months seeking out my pre-Euro5 Renault Master as the base for my camper conversion. Finding a van pre-2010 with no DMF, DPF and below Starship mileage is Unicorn territory, and you get all the problems with restricting where our turncoat Politburo will allow free access, and the draconian extra fees etc.... but I just could not countenance the thought of the expensive problems and hassle that the OP (& others) have.
I've seen quite a few Euro 5/6 vans in the workshops where I used to work, and the engines (once stripped of ancillaries) look like cheap lightweight lawn tractor engines compared to older stuff, and along with all the other electronic etc issues - none were confidence inspiring to say the least.
Also while researching for a van, the myriad reports on the Transit (from I think the period 2015-18 - the sort of square grille faced one?) Could be condensed to "avoid at all costs - unreliable, badly-designed money pit with zero Ford support".
As propositions for the 2nd-hand buyer, the stuff that's been cranked out for the last decade+ don't seem worth the gamble.
It took 2-3 months and hours & hours of scouring to find the one I bought. The one I got is in no way perfect (hardly surprising at 15yo) with dings and marks from a working life, and evidence of a rear end bump that was mainly absorbed by the rear towbar footplate).I would agree - these Euro 6 vans are awfull money pits.
But finding a decent older van that has not been worked to death like a "black pool donkey" is near impossible.
