Transformers on standby

Does this transformer use more electricity than the regular 3.3 kv one,when it’s plugged in but no tools running? Thanks.

I'd hope so, that's juicy!
47.2 amps looks like the max input current it will use and 90.9 the max output, our 3 phase 10kva transformers idle at about 5-6 amps if that helps.
But yes it will use a fair bit more than a handheld 3.3kva yellow TX.
You'll need a D type MCB to get that fired up!

Thanks,I got it a few years ago as if one of us was using a 9” grinder and someone else maybe a mag drill ,the smaller one would trip.
I’ll use another work method.

That's what I've done.
I have switched sockets that are supposed to turn the plug live when switched on (sockets are always live)
I rewired the sockets with a 12v supply to operate a relay when a socket is switched on.
Works well but all sockets are live when one is switched so probably not as safe, but works for me.
You need to have a plug inserted before you can turn the power on (or off) or in my case energinise the transformer.
I also have an illuminated switch at the door that powers the system so I don't forget to turn it off on the way out and the transformer isn't left live when I'm not using 110v.
Only minor issue is there is a fair arc every time I turn the power off, but it hasn't fried the relay yet.
I think I have it on a C type breaker but it only trips the very odd time when switched on, during the very coldest weather.

It might have been for a spot welder.

I've seen UK single phase spot welders they run on 240 vac.
