I will have to cut the 19" shelves in half. The width of the shelf is about 10 cm short. And implant a sheet of marine plywood, 9 mm thick, on hidden screws, connecting the halves into a monolith. It is a pity that there is no jig for sale, for using oblique drilling, for such a thickness plywood. It was possible to make the sides of the box / shelf on three sides, with reasonable strength... The shelf forward projection is excellent, 50 cm and there is a margin in depth.Looks good man
That’s it
Metrology probably refers to a class 00 granite slab, which I ordered and packed for shipment. And calipers, micrometers, etc., to the measuring tool. Or how ?Nice. I am going to need a dedicated unit myself to keep my collection of devices safe.
There's a really nice word for the subject of engineering measurement and the science of measurement: metrology.
You are building a metrology tool cabinet...![]()
Spent 2 hours picking up a jig, a 6mm step drill and screws from various sources. Krag screws for a length of 12-15 apparently do not exist. Spax has similar ones, we'll see. That’s it![]()

Or presenting a scraper with a plate wear of 9/10You can even do a full-time Degree in Metrology now. Main entry requirement is a jacket with elbow patches![]()
Ok. Measure seven times, cut once.If geology is the science of earth studies, then metrology is the science of measurement.
If I had a tool box dedicated to studying the earth, I'd call it my geology cabinet.
