Been following this, thought I’d put my 2p in.
I was supposed to take my test late 97 and it was cancelled due to snow. I got a retest and passed in Jan 98. So if anyone has the right to be ****** off at the change it’s me I guess!
In fact I never took a trailer test because I had such a bad view of what had happened. I spent from 98 to 2017 racking up loads of miles with no B+E and not giving a sh1t. All different trailers too.
Did a bit of work for the feds and one of the Officers I was friendly with said they’d started to go down the no insurance route for no B+E, they never used to. Just a fine for otherwise in accordance.
Organised a test and training and was glad I had the training. Walked the test but without the training I would have failed because it wouldn’t have been done ‘their way’.
incidentally I started C+E training about 10 years ago but stopped because of medical grounds. It’s not a lot like the B+E test. It’s a worthwhile thing. About £500 I think and for me that’s tax deductible which helps. People spend that on rubbish. Mates girlfriend has horses. Spends money on them hand over fist but refuses to do her trailer test?!?
You would have missed it in 97 too lol
You had to take test in 96
I have one client take test in first week of Jan 97 after a cancel from Dec 96. Well gutted.
