I am not familiar with the IVA tests for homebuilt cars and trailers on UK. Just got asked by some friends about trailing their boat here on it's homebuilt trailer after brexit. Seems their ins co is being difficult about insuring it for France. I suggested putting it in for a test in UK so they had paperwork, even put a plate on it.
Not sure about the age of the trailer (waiting details) but they have had the boat since the '80s and been here several times before.
Law here is all trailers have had to be homologated after 2012, before that, up to 500kg gross wt was not controlled. Unlike UK, there is no easy inspection and it has effectivly stopped home builds.
Any idea what would be involved in a UK test and cost?
Cheers,
KF
