My 5x10 trailer came with a loading ramp. Problem is it is 4' tall when up. Acts like a big sail; trailer buffets in wind and gas mileage is crap.
I have long since removed it and used motorcycle ramps. But it would be nice to have something to keep stuff from rolling out when carrying other stuff.
So, fire up cutoff wheel and saws-all. Ramp cut down to 14" to match sides. Used one of the bed frame rails (now have several sets of rails from neighbors trash-day pickings.)
My welds are getting better . Should have cleaned the metal up better before tacking ends. Hard to get grinder in corners. So, often welds would tend to wander to the side a bit.
You can see my previous project; the wire mesh on the sides used to be the floor. Was a pain as it would sag between support rails. Always the kickstand on the bikes was right between 2 supports; bike was unstable until tied down. So replaced floor with 5/4 x6" wood.
Clarke 130EN, ER70S-6 0.030 wire, 75/25 Argon/CO2 gas.
Now just need to paint it up.
