Does the VAT have to be considered?I know we have a few famery types on here so any thoughts on this model please? are they any good? Its only for our smallholding so we dont need anything huge!
Even with that it seems like a good price?

Im really not sure, I really dont know what to look for in the way of faults/problems? I think there are better about but its got the front loader which swings me

Is anything obviously badly worn. Any pins/bushes. Things are nearly always going to be worn at that age, but how bad is any wear.
Given it has a loader fitted, I'd be paying close attention to the front axle, things like is the centre pivot badly worn, are the wheels sitting true.
Does it start cleanly, ideally you want to see it start from stone cold.
Does the engine sound OK, with no discerning knocks/rattles, and no apparent misfires.
Can you get all the gears, and do all the gears work.
Does the clutch feel OK, with a reasonable bite point (can be quite hard to judge, unless you've driven similar tractors)
Does the steering work with minimal play.
Do the hydraulics work. Ideally you'd want to put a load on the arms, but do they rise smoothly and at a reasonable speed.
One benefit of having the loader, is any issues with the hydraulic pump should be quite obvious, although unless the tractor has been fitted with an uprated pump (I don't think that's on option on these), they can be quite slow to lift anyway.
I'd suggest trying to find somebody local with a bit knowledge to give it a once over.
From my experience having looked at a few smaller tractors for non-tractor people, genuine sellers will be willing to spend a bit time with them, demonstrate things, and let them at least see the tractor running with an implement (provided there was suitable access to one).
If they go all salesman like and actively avoid letting you run the tractor, I'd be questioning what they were trying to hide.

Loader is very useful, but all depends what you want to be able to do with a tractor.
Condition and condition and hours are whats important….is it 11 plus Rachel from accounts bit or 11

I did see those but they looked in pretty poor condition?
A couple of rubbish photos of the one im looking at, need to get something ideally for the 1st week of Feb
To be fair I dont think you could restore/refurbish one for the same money these days

if that is mechanically as good as it looks...be aware shiny paint can hide a lot , loos great though eh , and they have shelled out for rubber, new front rims? new exhaust , new seat..Nothing for Rachel this time

look at my avatar , genuine , untouched , starts on the button , lifts a genuine ton on a pallet , lives outside , scruffy as you like but reliable and does what it needs to , mf 135 industrial , one of ten ordered specifically for the raf back in the day , with heavy loader .love it

Nice isn't an issue, just look after it, dont let it live out. As for the amount of cash, only your Mrs knows if your allowed to buy it!I have touched it and felt it!

if its that good and its actually the right tool for the job , crack on and buy it , get a shed for it to stay half decent , if its working to earn its keep don t forget it won t stay in show condition though , just be thorough checking over mechs and hydraulics first , price wise go through ebays sold list for same models will give an idea what actual market prices are ,looking at same condition etc etc . good luckI have touched it and felt it!
