Acquired these about 20 years ago came from a WW2 search light that was being scrapped only found them again today , i really want to use them for something it seems a waste to let them be lost again for another 20 . I thought about a tracked sack truck but the pivot point would be in the wrong place and other ideas ?

In what way is the pivot point in the wrong place? Maybe I'm not visualising it right but to me it looks like these would be fine on a sack truck?

Can't believe you have all missed the best idea for them...

Get a mobility scooter, a cbr600 or similar engine, some cans of green, brown and black paint...then rent your half track drag scooter out to retired veterans with a need for speed

I could make a tracked fire pit interesting idea , seams sacrilege on something over 80years old though

I should imagine that a tracked wheel barrow would be hard to push along. There will be a lot more friction than a simple wheel?

I think it would be a bit harder to push yes but the main issue would be turning tracks really only want to go in a straight line. I think the way they solved that would be to have a central wheel and make it a little bit larger to pivot on.

Until I found the advert i though it might be worth trying to see if it works but I guess it did
