It's not a design fault
Some machines have options of dipper length selected by the original purchaser
A longer stick whilst having more reach will have less power and less stability
Having a long blade on the small machines is a a massive nuisance
And then some machines may or may not have a quick hitch which ads to reach
Machine. This size will be a compromise between stability and reach but all the ones I've use can reach the blade with the boom cranked right round
A machine that cant crumb up is a pain, most of the problems are with these aftermarket quick hitches. Some have compromising geometry with scant regard to function, we have one on a machine that cant load over the side of a dumper without losing the contents of the bucket. Probably end up altering the pins on the buckets rather than lose the quick hitch, it is something that is still regarded as an extra which is just wrong when you consider the spend.
