I'd seen a heavy duty metal toy car I liked online that a machinist had made for his son and wanted to make something similar for my partners nephew. It had to be simplified to make it achievable with my skills and tools (or lack of )
Started the main body using some 50x25x2.5 RHS. Cutting in the rapidor to get the front and rear angles.
Needed to get the rear end capped so cut and filed some flat bar to fit.
I can't tig very well with filler rod so went round the edges just puddling the steels together at first without any filler.
And then again over the top with a filler rod, after sanding you can see where I hadn't fully welded it.
So built up again over the top to fill the gaps.
Filing and sanding back down to round off the edges
