Yeah. Nice to see someone doing batch, albeit limited batch, work that still turns out quality like that over and over.

Interesting to watch - he uses a gas lens with a bit of stick out and a very 'comfortable' grip with his fingers right down on the cup...I try that but it's difficult not having a foot pedal - I have to operate the trigger with the rear of the palm of my hand.
I've bought a generic on/off pedal which I'll make up a plug for - I'd like to add current control by hacking the machine but it does not belong to me.

What has he stuffed into the pipes (the 2 into 1 joint at start). It looks like aluminium foil.

It is, around about 1:45 and again at 3:20 you can see the feed pipe for the back purge.

Inspirational work and I love the shots of the cooling tungsten which shows the effect of and need for post flow.

Yep, it's for the back purge, very talented guy doing an excellent job, only point would be you really don't want to be TIG welding just wearing a t shirt

been there done that not again my arms where red and very painful after welding and that was just around 2hrs of welding.

Had a skin cancer scare earlier in the year, when the consultant found out I'd been involved in welding he went over me from head to toe looking for stuff. Said they had seen a big rise in cases of people in their 50's who had been in the game
