I've just finished getting all the crud off my disco only to find that the paint on the bonnet is now starting to bobble, crack and in some places crack off. There doesnt seem to be any corrosion underneath but i want to repair it properly. (my disco is on an 'M' plate and is 12 years old.) I have the paint code from the makers plate but i need to know the proccess for sorting it out. Should i rip off all the paint and start again or should i do the affected areas.
I have sprayed various tractors but the paint on those doesnt need to be as good as that. I have always used a self etching primer and then 3 or 4 top coats of the final colour. having never sprayed the top pannels of a car i'm a little lost. and any thoughts would be massively helpfull!
the paint code is 574 (niguaga black) and seems to be metallic.
Thanks! Pete
