Toolstation seems to only have the cheaper poorer quality stuff compared to screwfix.I use toolstation if I want a smaller order posted as they post on orders over £10 when to post free from screwfix you need a £50 order.If I'm picking it up screwfix is nearer.

I wanted an outside tap earlier this year and was looking in Screwfix and the other online shops. I went a walk up the town and thought I would call in the ironmonger/hardware store for a look round and got the same brass bibcock tap and fittings for £3 less. It pays to look round at home sometimes.

Screwfix are pretty close and usually have what I want

Toolstation have less stock and the staff are pretty hopeless
I try and avoid both unless its plumbing stuff on a weekend (get it from plumbfix on sat)

spend over a tenner, and delivery from toolstation is next day and free

or go in to store, and grab a free hot chocolate...

i rarely buy from screwfix any more, but they are good for a few things. im happy with the cheaper, but more condensed lines from toolstation

if u go to screwfix stroke electrifix i have a trade account with they have the full stock of mk distributiion boards at a good price even all out local wholesalers cant get them unless u order them and they take days . electrifix next day delivery and in stock
