We had contractors build a speed bump over a weekend at work years ago, planned in metric, built in inches. You should have seen the fun on Monday morning. I watched the cars get airborne & a Mercedes truck caught the centre prop bearing & ripped the cross member out of the chassis. That was stuck for a bit while they worked out how to move it.

NASA had a similar issue where they designed something in metric but the american supplier made it in imperial.

a guy there had one outside his house and got well hissed off with it so dug it off with his jcb
