toggle switch question

I need to replace a small toggle switch on a lincoln inverter.
its like the pic below, three position switch with three tangs/connections
is there only one possible type of switch it can be, or do I need to figure out more before I buy?
its plain, not momentary btw

It's either a 1 pole 2 way (spdt) with 2 positions or spdt with centre off, 3 positions.

yes with a meter but why do u want a switch unless the one u have is knacked??then if it is u cant test it

It is kinda working, I think, but it has turned into a momentary switch in one direction.
wont stay in position or sometimes it does but is super sensitive.so I whipped it out.
selects crisp mma, soft mma or tig

Is there a part no on other side, some of those switches have a momentary in one direction

if it is a three position switch it will likely be a simple single pole double throw on - off - on.

I stuck a meter on it and it was on, off, on.
got one in maplins, put it on and cured the fault in welder.

There was no part number, just vac rating.
I knew from the front panel on welder that it couldnt be momentary
