Upgrading the battery cables from 8 AWG, to 6 AWG fine strand flexible cable, and using a crimp tool rather than battering it with a cold chisel.

YouTube is comedy gold as long as you don't take the whoppers on it seriously. I'm sure there are good people on there, but from the little I've seen on there they're few and far between.

I've found over the years that you can get really good results with even the most cheap and cheerful crimp tool, but you absolutely must use decent terminals. The cheap, thin walled type all end up distorted and with 'ears' no matter what tool you use.

Sometimes it's all to easy to overlook the most obvious, basic and really quite important stuff for the/a business.

Just had a customer booking another trike in for a couple of weeks time. Usual conversation "Oh great! You work on trikes, not many do now ..." etc. It was only when I got off the phone and was pondering how much trike work was about, it's good work to do, a handy niche for me etc. that it dawned on me trikes aren't mentioned once on my websites. So that's being corrected.

Anyway, this is the Destiny trike with a Slingy engine he'll be bringing in.

After spending a while trying to crimp a large-ish ring terminal onto my new alternator charge cable, I took the cable and one of those terminals to another guy on the farm who has a crimp tool like that, far. far better and seemingly quite easy to do. Can't justify having the crimp tool for myself, though. Unless I see one cheap, of course, then it can sit with all the other single-use tools. But, unlike my first attempt with a ring terminal, this is still in place after a few miles.

ISTR seeing them on eBay for about thirteen quid delivered.

I think Destiny build the frames from scratch, so it stands a chance of being decent.

Really? I only had a quick look after he'd done the job and they were nearer £100, and at that price I don't use them anywhere near enough to need £100 sitting in a tool box. £13, however, is a different thing, but it's still the first time I've needed to crimp one of these on, in all the years I've been messing with old cars.

Have a look on the NABD website, you might be able to put an add in there as I'm sure a lot of people on trikes have trouble with servicing and repair work that might want to use your services.
I used to service a guys trike that he couldn't get work done on anywhere else nearby. I can't remember what it was (Kawasaki VN?) but it was built by a firm in Wales and had proper independent rear suspension. He went from not being able to walk at all to hopping about on a stick a few years later.

Mostly, I am feeling moderately accomplished at having got the Acratork device stripped, rebuilt, and functioning , and at having found a new and unexpected way to lose my eyebrows but not quite blow myself up.
It involved a squirt of aerosol penetrating fluid, and a source of ignition in close proximity....
Wheeeeeeee !
