a desiccant type dehumidifier needs ventilation to the outside, they absorb moisture from the air of the room they're on, then have use the air in the room to blow that moisture out the vent tube
so it's constantly sucking fresh air into the room
if you use a refrigeration type dehumidifier the water either collets in a tank, or you can add a drain hose so it drains away (to outside) - get one with a humidistat built in (most have them) and it'll turn on/off as needed to keep the room dry
being a small room it should hardly need to run?
I shouldn't think the unit will need to run for long cycles considering it's a small volume area.
I might be better off with a refrigeration unit as opposed to a dessicant type. Somewhat confused now.
