Titan strimmer not working after a month

Manufacturers say 50:1, or on cheaper tools, 40:1. The more oil you use, the more it will soot up and give other issues.

I've had some of my tools apart and even at 50:1 theres a good thick oil film where it matters.

I have a small measuring beaker, 60ml oil for 3L of petrol, is my usual mix.

trouble is at 50/1 theres very little room for error ,,, at 35/1 you can be a bit off and it makes no odds , 50/1 is a recent thing , old stuff like seagulls ran at 25/1 granted oil wasnt as good , in fact they used engine oil for two stroke as did many bikes of that era.

I don't know why folks seem to have so much trouble with tools, all mine get 25-1 with whatever fuel I have or can get locally, whatever oil I can get locally, If I remember they may get get drained and run till empty but if not they just get a good shake to mix what's in the tank before starting
The Titan chain saw has been going for 10 years and has been used/abused and apart from the chain brake giving issues has been faultless, the Husqvana brush cutter the same, Ive a no name multi tool hedge cutter/strimmer/chainsaw and a chineseium post hole borer that all start on the button regardless of time spent idle

There was a fault with most of the 2stroke Titans where the factory had set them all too lean, it just needs an 1/8 of a turn on the mixture screw.

Some of my old engines have the mixing details of the filler cap, although I have to convert the pints and quarts bit

Over on the arboristsite forum they seem to prefer a 40-1 mix, especially on a tuned saw.
I might try that on my next can of mix.

Mind you their membership seems to be mostly redneck Americans and they voted for Trump!

Doubt I'll get feedback about what was wrong but not going to try repair myself whrn still under warranty and less than 4 weeks use time
