Time serts

Yeah there worth every penny helicoils are a bit Micky mouse IMO. Over the year time serts have saved the day so many times especially on Merc injectors

Helicoils are no more Mickey Mouse than timeserts. There are plenty of places in industry where they are deliberately used as a thread strengthener. We have a machine at work that uses timesert style inserts and they regularly unscrew with the bolt.

Ive only used time serts twice, both occusions I glued (threadloc) them in, never moved
