time for a mig upgrade

my sealy 185 supermig is getting a bit tired and it's time with me is pased. going to give it a quick overhaul as a mate wants it for his garage ( dose rather a lot less welding than me )

so the question is what do i replace it with. It must be singel phase, i would like finer controll over the volts and idealy a better wire feed. and a bit more power. the sealy has been good at most of what i do TBH and allways seemed powerfull for 185 amps when turned up ( strange i know )

will be used for everythign from bodywork up to about 10mm , after that i'll use stick or my 450 amp 3 phase machene with genny ?

not set a budget TBH as it allways goes out the window. the tig started out as going to be a cheep ebay DC one and i ended up buying the rtech 251.


it would like to spend less than a grand but can spend more

Heres a good Lincoln one
This ones has duty cycle of 60% at 200amps which is pretty good if you will only be welding light stuff most of the time, or you could go for the next model down the 191 which is 60% at 150 amps.

Hi,

All of the above machines are good options, also worth considering Murex when looking at these sets. Tradesmig 201 or 251 as they are well built, decent power for single phase and come with the 2 years parts and labout warranty.
