prices ratchet up quickly but rarely come down

Its probably going for biomass! Which is a bit bizarre. Importing wood to burn for a subsidy, but it does happen. From what I gleaned today in the pub in the states timber is traded like any other commodity and futures market by the board foot.

I doubt its going for biomass, its all packaged up ready to hit timber yards and building sites.
I read its being imported from Norway.
Looking at the amount of timber there now, at current prices must be a tens of millions in value.
