I have a small area in the kitchen, between the sink top and the window sill, which I want to fill with a row of 600x300mm tiles (about 10mm thick).
(External wall - double brick, with cavity)
The wall has been stripped back to the brick - which is too rough to take the tile adhesive without an intermediate coat.
Is it possible to render the wall, and then set the tiles straight onto the render?
Could I just use construction adhesive (ct10 type stuff) to glue the tiles to the wall?
I could render, then use tile adhesive - but that means waiting (24hrs? 7 days?) for the render to harden.
Am I better off just shelling out the £30-£40 for two aquapanel boards (the shape means I'd need two) plus fittings?
I already have ct10, sand, cement, SBR, and tile adhesive.
I resent paying for more stuff, if I don't have to.
