Tile cutters

chucked out my industrial Rubi tile score n break cutter....now use a wet diamond cutter bit like a circ saw bench....
1/2 the time modern floor tile are really tough.....

mine prob 10 years old and had a lot of use ........

I use a stone cutter in a angry grinder for most cuts. Just keep it damp.
For curves and complicated cuts a Tile saw from Screwfix.

I fit all the uncut tiles first, then straight cuts. Finally complicated cuts.

I've got a wet cutter. Possible to cut cleanly even 2mm off the edge of a tile. Wouldn't go back to the score and snap method.

I use 3 cutters
Big manual dry cutter in the house.

Outside I have a 7' wetsaw tablesaw style
And a 10" bridgesaw.

All 3 get used on jobs regularly.

Though I resorted to the 9" grinder on the limestone. 900 long is a bit much for my bridge saw

Wifey went rooting around in my toolbox for a saw to cut some branches off our Christmas tree once. . She found a strange-looking one which didn't seem to work too well, she said "it was a bit blunt".

I once found my missus scraping the weeds between the flag stones with my big Snap On flat screwdriver...ruined it

My missus did the same with a Victorinox Swiss army penknife - I’m still touchy about that 20 years later

I'm a big fan of the £ 30 Marley type tabletop plastic tile saws with a decent fence & diamond impregnated blade

So long as you take your time and check first off which side lives you the best visible surface cut they are a doddle to use . Even curves , just make a lot of fine radial cuts almost to the line ..break off the 2mm thick legs of the radial cut just short of the finished curve . Then very carefully clean things up to the curve line using the edge of the cutting wheel ......in place on the machine & with water .

They are also very good for both ceramic & porcelain tiles .. I couldn't cut the slip resist ceramic Marley floor tiles I've got in our wet room using a tile scribing device

Our Men's shed guys used to do that to about a dozen Makita cross drive gold points a week . Most guys using them just didn't have the sympathetic hand & ear skills or knowledge enough to use them or the differences between Pozi, Phillips & Euro ( ????) drive screw heads
I ended up getting thousands of square drive screws and a few dozen of the super quality square drive bits .
