Tight Bolt- Any tips to remove?

Looking for tips on how to remove a vey tight bolt on my car.

The bolt is for a dog bone gearbox mount it's a 19mm and it's got a captive nut on the upper side of the mount which is unreachable. I have tried everything an extended breaker bar and my Dewalt DCF899N impact driver which is supposedly able of applying 1625Nm of "breakaway" torque, impact gun just will not touch it.

Checked some clips on youtube and it looks so easy and the bolt just comes out with minimal force.

Any ideas I can try?

1) Heat - give it some tender caressing with a torch

2) If heat alone doesn't do it, melt a crayon into the now-heated threads. It's magic.

heat the head of the bolt til its glowing...the heat will soak into the bolt, it can only expand outwards from the hole, but will cool and contract in all directions...might take a few heats to make a good difference...dont turn it when its hot, you will twist the head off.

you can also smack the head of the bolt (when cold) with a lump hammer to shock it and potentially break any corrosion.

plus gas (liquid not spray) is the only penetrating oil i use, soak it for as long as you can and keep adding periodically, it will flash off with heat so just beware of that.

i have an attachment i made for an air hammer that takes a socket so you can really shock it while applying turning force.

when it starts to move, turn it back in when it starts to stiffen up to prevent dragging any corrosion through the threads and ruining them making things harder.

where about in the country are you? may be someone local here that could offer assistance or extra tooling

Get a proper six sided socket on it, looks like it's already loosing the shoulders from poor socket fit.

1" breaker bar and a suitable reducer and 6 sided socket. It'll either undo or snap...

also dont use a deep socket if using a bar..you need a short stubby with all the force applied as close to the head as possible...looking at the pic i could have that off in 15 seconds with all due respect fella

Do you have the Dewalt set on 3 ?? If so, plenty of plusgas - give it time to work, and as others have said- heat.

Yes, it's set on number 3. Tried for around 30 seconds I woke half of the street up doing this. Would keeping the impact wrench on longer help? I cannot get plusgas on the threads because it's not visible it's hidden in an inaccessible location.

you might as well use hemeroid cream if your thinking plusgas is your friend..its a con, any stuck nut to that extreme i can gauranttee if you used plusgas the threads would be bone dry when out. As been said you need mapp gas and get the head cherry red and a 3ft cracker bar.

that will be handy if your local to him, had similar on one of my trucks, impact would nt touch it , 3/4 t bar, shortish scaff tube over that, six sided socket, braced myself against tyre and used leg power to undo.

I would bet the unthreaded shaft on that bolt is seized inside the ally centre of the dogbone bush. It may come out, or it may shear off and leave half the bolt in the bush with the threads still in the captive nut.

A Big enough bar (36" usually will do.) will either loosen or shear it off, but if it shears then you'll need to smash out what's left of the bush.
