I used to think that you couldn't tig brass, then read that it can be done but is messy due the burning off the zinc or something. Is the secret simply to avoid getting it too hot to avoid boiling the zinc?
its a nasty old thing brass, in the fifth picture you can see the sooty deposits that shot out on first tack , once warmed up it tends to stop spitting until I turned it over to do the backside it spat at me again , the small part of the repair was glowing red I nearly lost it had I have kept the heat on too long !
I’ve done some little brass repairs in the past and can appreciate the job you’ve done there is not easy. It doesn’t weld or braze particularly nice. Nice little repair and good to see that come back to life.
