tig welding rods

hi

just brought a tig welder off ebay
pick it up on friday and just wondered
could i use o/a filler rods for mild steel work?

You really need double or A15 triple deoxidised filler, read through this thread

also the welder ive got has a 110v socket but says duel voltage
is it a case of just flicking a switch or something else?

Dual voltage sets usually have a changeover switch on the back, sometimes its a slider type that is pushed over with a screwdriver so it doesn't get moved accidentally, I dont know that machine but someone on here may, post a pic of the back of the machine it'll probably be fairly straightforward.

I have tig welding rods stainless and mild but I have also got a large real of mig wire, just seems cheaper if only doing small jobs.
