Really really great vid. Love the little drop ins you put in there about where you've worked and what you did.
Arc shots are excellent. Really clear view of your root key hole and the pool.
Your English is spot on.
I've done quite a lot of 5/6G roots on small pipes and can appreciate just how skilled you are with the lovely results you got there at end. Nice one. Tag me in on your next vid thread.
I know nothing about tig welding but I very much enjoyed your video. Well edited and as Richard says, good arc shots. Very watchable, also enjoyed your little additional bits with places you had worked.
Not only is your welding excellent, the camera skills of your wife are as well
Tried taking some footage of my own welds and they were not very good, the video wasn't that great either
I use a 7 years old digital camera Sony a 33. Tried with a really expensive nd filter first made for film arcshoots for welding, but i dident get any good pictures with that. So now i have built my own filters. Best seems to be to use one shade darker than i use in the mask. I adjust focus and light sensetive manually. I have som ideas how to gett it a little bit better witch i will try later. Thanks for watching and feedback.
Remember fellas I'm not a certified pipe welder and I don't weld pipe day in day out but occasionally I do throw my self in for a go at it when I can be bothered to prep some up.
Based on that see my attempt at a 5g 4inch pipe root.
I'm an honest guy I could tell you it was perfect but it would of failed a test to be fair. Root pen was there but on the under side the gap must of closed and I lost pen for a good inch or so. You can sort of see it in the pic right at the bottom. Lack of pen Doh!!! Root face was very pleasing
The pic was the right side vertical from 7-11 o'clock 3 runs to complete the root. torch switch 80 amps 3.2 gap. It still would of failed though
I'll stick with my 0.5-2mm stuff I think.
It's all related to what you do.
A man who spends his days popping pipe butt joints in is highly skilled in his area but if he's never approached a 0.9 mm bicycle frame before chances are he's gonna make a mess of it. Same with an aluminium tank or a roll cage etc.
I've done a few pipe butts before in 5/6 G I find 5G the hardest because of the crouching down to get to the underside. 6 is difficult but less crouching makes position easier to obtain from my experience. In fairness I generally hit the root most times full pen all the way (not today though most of it was fine but underside lacked complete pen. Better prep work next time I think.).
