If you're only going to be welding 5/6mm max mild steel you could consider a Jasic TIG 200PDV, lovely sets with food adjustablity and well within your price range. Don't know where you are but if you're anywhere here Shropshire you'd be more than welcome to try one.
What's the thickest Ali and stainless it can weld? Thanks

Afraid you can't weld ali with it as it isn't AC. Stainless wise it'll do 4/5MM easily.

£700 gets you a really nice DC only machine. This allows to weld steel, stainless, titanium, copper and all ferritic type metals.
Unfortunately £700 doesn't buy to much of an acdc machine which allows all of the above as well as aluminium and such alloys.
Are you considering used machines too or just new.

Ahh, i dont really care to be honest. I seen the Stahlwerk machines on eBay for around 700 ac/dc with 5 year warranty but how risky is it buy a welder from over seas? Haha

Well there was a couple of stalwerk reviews kicking about on the forum. One was still been updated from 3 years ago and the other fresh out the box. All seemed positive though . I wouldn't personally as I'm unlucky enough to get the one that goes pop. The only issue is its your responsibility to return it and pay for that return in the event of a warranty claim which is also going to see you without it for minimum 2 weeks. If your happy with that go for it.

Keep an eye on the bay of evil, plenty of good gear to be had if you are patient and willing to travel a bit to test, get gas arranged and material beforehand as there is no way to test easily if the seller conveniently has no gas or metal to weld on.
