Never used one but the Vector series from Stahlwerk has both pulse and pedal option on some machines.
I would save a few more quid and buy the Thermal Arc ta202 ACDC, its very affordable for a ACDC machine, has pulse as standard and takes a foot pedal. Duty cycle is good and esab sells it in the states with a different paintjob ! Its been tried and tested for the last 8-10 years and its a very, very good welder. A decent package will cost you about double your budget but you buy once, right ! Kemppi minarctig 180 also comes with pulse version and can be had for about your budget 2nd hand although the TA is better value for money !
Yep, however the TA doesnt look as naff as the parweld...The Thermal Arc is essentially the same as the Parweld XT202;

I used a 9 for years, now 20 (same size but watercooled).
The flexheads break after a while. So I use rigid heads now. Totally fine for me.
Size 17 with stubby kit is another option if you need a little more capacity. But when its all about DC and framebuilding 9 is fine.
Well if you fancy one of these I have a brand new one for sale for 500 as a one off . Purchased yesterday for my father but he has changed his mind . Comes with torch regulator and gas pipe so you wouldn't get better than this for this price . Cost me 700.
