Tig welder advice please

Hello All

Has anybody got any experience of these please

I realise its Chinese, but everything seems to be these days.

I don't have the money to spend on a Miller etc, as it will only be for occasional use.

Any guidance would be gratefully received.

Best thing to do is a forum search for Cobel, and Giant, you will find a few threads asking the same question as yourself, I would spend a bit more money and buy something better and with some proper support for when things go wrong.

Well, rightly or wrongly I've ordered one, arrives on Monday.

Time will tell if it was a good decision or not.

I can post results if anyone is interested ?

with the amount of repair guys/firms out there now,a cheap tig doesnt always end up an expensive paperweight if something goes wrong
i knackered my JLT/Rtech ac dc tig recently,made it smoke real good by shorting the torch switch wires on a hot piece.110 quid plus the vat later and its back to normal.

I didn't get chance to try all the settings, pulse etc.



The pedal appears to be more of switch than a 'volume' pedal - but still very useful - there may be a setting to use as 'volume' but the instructions that came with it are a bit lacking - I'll have to do some research.



So, how did it weld ? In a word - great !



Any deficiencies you notice in the welds are down to me - I haven't picked a Tig torch up for 30 years ! So I don't think it's too bad - more practice required though.



It welded stainless fine on DC and Ally fine on AC.



I need to spend much more time with it, but I'm very happy with it.



I was trying it out at my mates fabrication workshop and he was very impressed with it.
