Hopefully I will be looking at getting hold of a tig machine sometime in the near future.
TBH I could never see the point in having one that could'nt do aluminium, however I am sure that lots of people on here use theirs for mild and stainless steel.
Who generally makes the best ones? What are the best specs?I appreciate that it all boils down to money. It will be living in my garage and running off my domestic mains.
As an aside, my local JTF was knocking out Giant 130A tig machines for £60. I know that the chinese machines have a mixed reputation, but that is throw away money.
By the way, I used to weld for a living, mainly Mig and Arc, occasionally I used Tig and did some gas welding. Despite the fact that I no longer do it I really don't want to lose the skills - would probably still be doing it if it was'nt for the volatility of the market.
Any advice appreciated.
