I think I might need to try some torches before I commit, luckily enough I was talking to the father in law about it and he got in touch with a mate (called Chris from Cirencester may be a member) who has a few different torches that I can try so off next weekend to try them so will update then

Yes with the superflex

the super flex hose is good but not a Ck thing.The weldtec I've ordered among Others use the silicon over braided flex hoses too. Only ck make the big deal out of it used on there torches afaik.

Yes quite a few of the American manufacturers use the flexible silicone hose. Just like the flexaprene welding cables.

Parker torchology is Tracy's & Parweld is Chris', both make torches and they are both very good & I believe the grips are made using the same moulds but some aspects of Parweld torches are different to Parker Torchology torches.
I.e. cables are a bit different, switches are interchanged somewhat differently & Parker use a different dinse type thing called Surelok 50 - One size fits all apparently.

Parker also have the MultiJust range which have infinite adjustability for getting into tight spaces.

I have the swivel head part on a standard tube type handle with the parker super flex cable

For the money is a good swivel headed torch

Can anyone tell me where I can buy a RDA remote.I have asked this question before,it was supplied by Tim Wynn.We would take at least 25 at a time.

Do you mean a thumb control for your torch? We sell them but exactly which one depends on the potentiometer in your machines.

Plenty useful for use in tight spaces where you can't get a pedal in.

I had one of them on my Parweld, could never get on with it so stuck pedal between my knees.

Aye, i've heard some love them some hate them.. they're a hell of a lot cheaper than a pedal though :P

Did the pedal between the knees not get somewhat annoying? I find it difficult enough focusing on keeping a tight arc and dipping puddle, nevermind controlling the pedal with my knees into the mix

You are correct hotrodder about the earlier thread.Nobody seems to supply the remote anymore.I did see one in the Starparts catalogue.They don`t do it either.Tom the remote has a switch and a pot,the pot is above the switch.

I picked up the idea from gary (chevy2) once you get used to it it's a really easy way to use in awkward areas.

Think these were called LPS switches, WTC stopped having them made when ITW bought them because they decided that they didn't sell enough units.

Just to update, I spent an afternoon playing with various tig torches, both air cooled and water cooled and various tig machines (unexpected bonus) and got to say the winner at the moment is the ck with super flex hose, it felt so light and comfortable so going to look at buying a ck9 just after Christmas
