Guys what all this differences in switches mean

its as simple as the discription.

the lever switch has a lever on the end of the switch.
the bulbous one is a round push top type
the flat is a flat push type again.

ergo is short for ergonomicly designed (spelling)

Momentary switch is what it sounds like too... they don't 'click' into position like say a light switch, they make momentary contact when you press and release them i.e. you have to hold the button/lever down to get contact.

If you set the TIG to 2T (2 touch mode) you press the button (or lever) to weld and release it to stop. In 4T (4 touch mode) pressing will activate the arc BUT it'll remain at the initial current/starting amperage. Releasing the button will start the 'slope up' and the current will ramp up to the welding current. Pressing the button again will activate the slope down (the current will wind down to the crater current/finish amperage) and releasing it will shut off the arc

Bill, take your wallet and welder to a welding shop. Tell them you want a TIG torch to fit it, give them money in exchange for what they offer. It'll be fine.

If instead of the Tig Torch switch i go in the route of the Footpedal.
That mean that i am unable to use both the Torch switch and the footpedal!
What will be your suggestion.

Foot pedal but if you buy a torch with a switch changing over is just a case of unplugging one plug and sticking the other in.

Well langy I am intending to purchase a new Torch so there is the option to buy one ,without a switch earning the extras and invest in a pedal.
What you think is it a better choice?

As above Bill, I like both but use the pedal 90% of the time, on the odd occasion i can't use the pedal i change plugs and use the switch.
The extra cost of the switch is peanuts.

We speak about £10.00 to 15.00 so it is better to have the switch even , you use even not!
For a footpedal what brand you think I go!
I want something cheap and reliable.
Any suggestion from your experience?

Cheap & reliable don't always go together i'm afraid, what welder do you have ???
