tig torch for tecarc m2000i

fancy trying tig with my multi process tecarc
on the female negative dinse connector the gas comes out from the middle of it
do normal torches connect this way or will i need a adapter ?

also i cant make head or tail of the lingo on the torchesie-wp17 etc

the m2000i is rated at 10-170 tig amps and is lift start

You'll need a 3/8BSP TIG adapator which is the correct dinse plug for the welder, hopefully your torch is valved else you're going to be wasting a lot of gas.

i havent got a torch yet as im not quite sure what i need
so far i think i need a 170amp switched torch
there is a internal gas valve in the m2000i,hence the hollow dinse connector


quality wise i have no issues with it at all
im not a fancy welder by any stretch but it suits me fine for farm work
just recently had to send it back for a repair as i forgot to remove the earth clamp and drove of and pulled the welder over

I'll bet it was, Clarke stuff is below par IMO.
My little Tec Arc 165i runs like a trooper. Dropped it, ran it continuously 3.2MM & opened it up & messed about with some parts and it still runs perfect! can't fault tec arc

Parweld will make a torch that will fit pretty much any set. Pretty good quality, and no need to mess with adapters etc.

As far as I've heard they're made for use with multi process machines so you don't have to get a valved torch or a dinse adaptor.

Otherwise, you can buy any torch and use this to fit it, I've looked at the unit and as far as I can see its got 35-50MM dinse sockets but I may be wrong. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-35-...t=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item2801ce09fb

I have just had a look at your set and it does not have HF start,it has lift arc,or better known as Scratch Start.In other words you will need to touch the Tungstan on to the metal you want to weld in order to strike up.You have 2 choices of Tig Torch,a WP 17 (rated at 170A)or a WP 26(rated at 200A) there is a choice of length 12.5ft or 25ft.I would go for the WP 17 as the WP 26 is a lot bigger and I doubt that you will weld at full amps for any length of time.You will need the following:-Valved Tig Torch,this is a must so you can switch the gas on and off, Tig Adaptor D3595-1-1,this goes into your -ve socket on the machine and has a length of hose with a 3/8 BSP nut on the end,I would look on E-Bay there is a 2mtr one for sale.Also I would suggest a Argon Flowmeter which will screw straight on to an inert gas regulator.That`s it!Happy Tig Welding.If you are struggling to source these parts let me know

I'm failing to see the difficulty here. You need a standard tig torch with a gas line dins plug and a 2 core switch cable. This describes pretty much all off the shelf tig torches. You then need the 3 pin plug going on the switch cable to suit your machine as shown above. I cannot see a gas connection on the machine so I assume you run that straight to the reg. dead simple and off the shelf stuff. I bet if you shopped about you'd get the torch and plug for under £60.

Yes i know that but everyone is failing to see that the gas will come OUT of the negative connection and a 3/8 screw type WONT fit a dinse socket

Well again you can get gas through dins sockets. All these parts are easily obtainable so you just need to either buy it seperate and put it together or get a manufacturer to supply you one built up or phone tecarc and see what they have for it.

You won't need a valved torch the gas comes through the dins so there will be a solenoid and the switch and plug will activate it along with the ignition. So it's lift arc not scratch start.
