Tig set under £1k

I've had a look through forums for advice, but thought I would ask myself.
I'm after a tig set, single phase, AC /DC, pulse ect 180ish amp is enough..
I've looked at jasic, r-tech ect,
Would like to add pedal..
Not sure which to go for, need a bit of advice on reliability ect....

I bought this Jasic set a while back, ive not really hammered it because the job I got it for never came off. But ive done a few aluminium jobs with it and so far im impressed.

I also like to have knobs on a set rather than a digital screen, but that's personal preference.
I think it was approx 700 quid, not sure but it was well under a grand.

IMO if I was in your shoes with a grand to spend there would only be 2 options for me.
No 1. I'd look seriously into buying a top branded used machine. I've seen Kemppis, esabs, Lincoln ACDC welders crop up from time to time for around that budget. Obviously there is an element risk involved so you need to ensure your in a position to travel and test the unit. Always where possible buy privately owned units not ex business assets. This is what I would do.
If that's not in your nature then for me it's the thermal arc 202 acdc all the way. A grand will get one easy. They are IMO the best low budget unit about and the extension offerings are nice additions. The foot pedals are made by SSC, the torches tweco.
Rtech and Jassic don't match up to the victor offering IMO and the equip they offer regarding torches pedals don't come close to what's offered with the TA.

Richard hit the nail on the head with that post. You won't find a better new set for the money than the thermal arc 202.

I have the Parweld version at home and its a brilliant little set, the arc is more stable than the Rtec
