Tig lessons....?

Hi Guys....

i just wondered if anyone knew of any 2/3 day tig courses...I'm based in Surrey and need to get up to speed properly in tig...so ali & stainless etc....

Have googlised it but nothing coming up that looks suitable...

I`m not certain, but I think Brooklands Colege may do something, probably out of term time though, worth asking at least.

Edit, Try the Fire and Iron Gallery in Leatherhead, not far from Weldmet so you could go and have a look at toys after. Failing that, maybe one of the many fabricators round this way would give you some lessons given the current lull in work. Where exactly are you, could throw a few names your way.

2 to 3 day course via a college would be classed as commercial work @ a minimum of around £500 per day, irrelevant if one or ten bodies attending. Try the JayRS4 route first offering beer tokens.

There you go http://www.brooklands.ac.uk/Uploads/coursepdfs/pt/PDF 09 Engineering.pdf might be courses running, says due to demand in april, but it`s a 10 week course and may not all be interesting to you. £250 doesnt seem to bad though.

I really would ask around the fab places, like i said, give me a better idea of location and i`ll tell you of anywhere i know local

erm in godalming.... got a month off for school hols... ideally it'd be a course as i need to keep the reciepts....as it were.. so beer tokens might be so good....!! need to get up to speed so's i can teach it next term....

Dare I ask if you`ve tried godalming college, i had some laser cutting done by them and there quite helpful. I know they have welding gear, i don`t know what exactly though. Have you got your own equiptment to practice with at home?

Places to try for lessons that come to mind. Burvills in Cobham, Arts of Steel in Ripley, Cranleigh Forge (you can probably guess where that is) DJM in Wokingham (i think there looking for a tig apprenctice too) Mercury Welding supplies in Horsham. There`s a place next to Travis Perkins in Guildford (not sure if its supply or manufacture)
