Sorry for digging, but I have a small stick-welder (maybe 150 Amps). Would it be possible to add on a cheapo TIG-kit to this one, and would it be possible to add them fancy connectors to the stickwelder, since mines so cheap that the torch and groundclamp cables are hardwired? I'm comfortable around electric stuff, but I want to know if theres anything I should think about except getting connectors, drilling holes and connecting them up?
You can add the HF units to the stick unit to add TIG functionality. They show up on ebay.
My welder has bolt-on cables. I added Tweco twist connectors. Jut cut the cables 1' from the unit and inserted the male/female connectors inline. Then I can swap the MIG and arc connections easily.
There are other twist connectors, Parweld, Lenco, Dinse. I use Tweco as the arc cables already had them. It is also nice as I made some extensions I can add to the length so i don't have lots of extra cable getting in the way when I am working on the bench.
